Unit 4: Additional Learning Activities
  1. Practice giving directions for a learning activity to a second grader, then to an eighth grader for a similar activity.
  2. Model shoe tying/feeding/counting/measurement as if you were doing it for a student. Analyze the steps necessary to successfully complete the task.
  3. Practice giving feedback to a partner who is acting as a student. How would you respond to correct answers? to errors?
  4. Given a short reading passage, write/ask literal, interpretive, and analytical questions covering the material.
  5. Respond to various examples of requests for help. Does the student in each situation need redirection, cuing, reassurance, or encouragement to work more independently?
  6. Given written lesson materials, or a self-help task, practice directing the student through cues.
  7. Divide a list of possible reinforcements into categories based on age-appropriateness, skill level, and classroom circumstances.
