Summary

Systematic training can significantly enrich the contribution made by tutors to the educational program. An effective training program addresses the four areas of:

Tutors can enhance the educational program by providing additional individualized attention and increased instructional contacts to students. When provided appropriate training, a tutor learns to meet the needs of the student while carrying out the teacher- prepared tutoring plan. With effective supervision by the classroom teacher, the tutor will become a vital part of the educational team working on behalf of each student.
